the young horse lover, our summer camp is a fantastic and memorable learning
experience. Campers immediately team up with horses best suited for their
skill level. And then the fun and the work begins.
Campers will learn to groom, feed, exercise
and clean their four-legged riding buddy. This personal relationship bonds
the horse and rider together for a great summer camp experience.
Campers have the option of riding at least
3 hours a day. Equestrian skills, from basic to advanced, from Western
to Hunt seat and jumping are taught with great diligence. Self-critiques
become a teaching tool, to speed the students’ progress. Special sessions
on proper care and selection of riding equipment teaches campers safety
pointers when choosing tack and other gear.
The fun on the trails and in the riding
arena fill our camp with laughter and friendship.
There is always time for friendly chats,
volleyball and the usual summer camp frolic. In a young persons life this
is a time for growing, goal setting and accomplishments, in a fun, leisurely
does not hinder our program since we have an indoor arena that is 60' x
144'. Our outdoor arena is 104' x 224', and we have miles of trails.
Cozy, comfortable campers are the living
quarters for students. Meals are home cooked. The breakfast menu varies
from cereal, waffles or pancakes. Lunch can be chicken nuggets, macaroni
and cheese or sandwiches. Supper can be pizza, chicken or spaghetti. A
vegetarian menu is available upon request.
Teaching positive mental attitude has been
our tradition for years. The word CAN'T, is not part of the language used
here. The bond that horse and rider develop help to create goal-setting,
achievement oriented equestrians. This positive mental attitude is carried

"My daughter, Laura, thoroughly
enjoyed camp. She grew in so many ways, becoming much more independant.
Riding 3 tmes a day, her horsemanship skills advanced quickly. Laura equally
enjoyed riding, making new friends and the 'can do' attitude of Bernadette
and all the counselors. This is one camp you don't want to miss. Appy Orse
Acres is the best horse camp in the country!"
|"I didn't realize the worth of a camping
experience until I saw my child's happy face, and heard about the wonderful
memories for weeks and months following her stay at Appy Orse Acres.
I began to understand the true worth of camp as she returned to school
with much more confidence and poise after spending her summer at Appy
